Stage 4: IKEA cabinet install and assembly

And now... the stage that has been the most fun and most rewarding so far. In one day it went from a big ol' space with pretty flooring to something that resembled our future kitchen.

Also, this step required the least amount of physical energy. Every other Saturday we've been crawling into bed exhausted. After this day- we went for a canoe ride and paddle boarding adventure with some friends. Oh yea.

Have I mentioned before that I LOVE Ikea? The assemble was awesome and now I can say the installation was awesome. They use a rail system. So you measure and screw the rail into the wall. Then you slide the cabinets in, make sure they are level, and tighten these little screws at the back and screw them into the cabinet next to it. I was kinda scared they wouldn't hold up, but they are sturdy as ever.

They come with super easy to follow instructions.



This was my kitchen drawing with the Ikea program and all my measurements and calculations. Mind boggling at times...



We thank Darren and Cindi for their help in this step. This is the step you want to invite people who know what they are doing. They built their whole house from the ground up. Yes, please come help us.

That night I hardly slept. I tossed and turned and dozed and dreamt. Most of my dreams consisted of being late or forgetting something. Did you sing that line in your head when you read the blog title? That's what I was singing... Anyhow, I am so thankful for our community. I am really experiencing true community at DCF the way I have never experienced before. Some of these thoughts have come about because I am excited to be a prayer partner and a part of the food team for the new film that our pastor has written and is directing. Filming starts tomorrow! I was telling Aaron how neat it is that our church body has been so supportive in helping him raise money, volunteering their time, and giving him time away from speaking for the next few Sundays so he can focus on the film. I said, "Wow, filiming starts tomorrow. It's like a dream come true," (at least, I am assuming so...)  He said, "Yea, they [dcf] really rally around people dreams. On laughable things

laugh·a·ble ˈlafəb(ə)l/ adjective so ludicrous as to be amusing - - - - - Five years. I drove away from school with our school sign in my review mirror and just like that, this girl has five years of teaching under her belt. It's almost laughable when I remember my very first day of school five years ago driving home with that same school sign behind sobbing and deciding how I would tell my principal I was quitting. I simply couldn't do it. Simply didn't have it in me. That's especially laughable when I consider that two years ago, I was chosen for District Teacher of the Year. Five years.
